About US
We have a very small family run show home and have an occasional litter of puppies. The puppies we do not keep to show, we sell under pet contracts. The puppies are kept in our home and handled daily, so they are well socialized. All puppies have a health and behavior guarantee to ensure that if there is a problem with one of our babies, they will come back to us.
Our Story
I am Terry Topham and have loved animals, especially dogs, since I was a small child. I scraped and saved for two years to buy my very own Wire-Haired Fox Terrier when I was 12. Her name was Trixie and she taught me 4 H obedience. Never was there a more stubborn dog! What I learned was valuable though – not every dog has a personality that will work well with your own, and not every dog enjoys being shown.
I worked more than full time hours for 40 years in healthcare as a Medical Technologist specializing in Hematology, then in directing laboratories and working with pathologists and hospitals. My favorite pastime with my family was rescuing and rehabilitating dogs from our vet, the shelter or humane society. We (my husband, myself and my oldest daughter) worked with an obedience demonstration team with our local humane society. We performed at several local venues and “meet the breed” events. Since my true wish was to show a pure-bred dog in the conformation ring, I started hanging out at AKC shows so I could learn. I had narrowed my sights to the Toy Fox Terrier. There were no TFT clubs close to Indianapolis, and breeders in my area were rare in 2006.
A young college student I met ringside who had shown horses, handled dogs and now was breeding TFTs became my unlikely mentor. I would meet her at shows and help her ringside. I would sit among the spectators and listen as dogs were judged and ask questions. I became a member of ATFTC in 2007 and worked as rescue coordinator for the midwestern states. I also got my first two TFT pups who became champions in 2008.
